Beginnings

June 1st 1997 marked the beginning of Person to Person (PTP). PTP was born as a result of ten years of prayer, a God - given vision and a burden.
Christ-centered members of different demomination holding high, responsible positions saw the urgent need for this ministry and formed and registered PTP as a public society. Ever since scores of people are being blessed by this ministry.

Purpose

The Church in India is far removed from the personal problems of her individual members. Sunday sermons alone are not adequate for experiencing an abundant life. A significant number need individual attention and a personal approach to their problems. PTP meets such a need.
The purpose of this ministry is to train and motivate key people in the churches to run an effective counselling ministry for their own members. Secondly, to provide Christian Care and counsel to any one in need - Christians and Non-Christians. Through such Christian Care and Counsel PtP desires to see every member of the church experience abundant life.

Strategy

Training: As the need is very large it is being achieved by transferring the vision of PtP to the leadership and training intrested members of the churches on how to care for and Counsel with individuals. Training programs are organised for the local churches and Christian Institutions like Schools, Colleges, Hospitals, Factories, NGOs and Para-Church organizations.

Seminars, Workshop and Institutions are facilitated by people who have professional training and experience.

Counselling Centre: Effective training always stemmed out of effective practice. Just to provide base for such a practice, a model centre is run at Secunderabad where individuals from all denominations have been coming for counselling. It also provides real life situations for training counsellors.

Counselling is entirely on Biblical principles. Research findings in Psychology are blended only to the extent it passes,as Dr.Larry Crabb puts it, "the Judgment bar of the Scriptures." Dedicated counsellors who are trained and expreanced offer counselling at the centre. Specialist counsellors are available on refferal basis.

Marriage Counselling, Pre-marital Counselling, Family Counselling, Grief Counselling, Youth Counselling, Career Counselling, Counselling for Addictions and Counselling for Psycological disorder are some of the areas where Biblical Counselling in provided at the centre.

Some seek counselling through telephone as it provides total privacy and anonymity. Yet a few others receive counselling through corrospondence.

Testimony: "We are going back (abroad) with a renewed commitment to make our marriage work". said one couple after marriage counselling. "But for your counselling (centre) by now I would have killed my daughter and would have commited suicide myself".

Resource Base: An exclusive library of books is available at the Counselling centre. Most of them are on Counselling and related issues. These books are a tremendous help to the counsellors in training and also as self-help aids to those who seek counselling. Video and Audio cassettes on different problem areas by eminent speakers are being added to the resource base.

Finances

This ministry is entirely supported by donations given by friends of PtP who see the need for Christian Care and Counsel within the churches and community. All the finances are raised within India. This ministry is not supported by any organisation either in India or overseas.

Vision

In the power of the Holy Spirit, support churches in mobilising and sustaining an effective counselling ministry, first to the members, and second, to the community at large so that the body of Christ may be built up... becoming mature and attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

Statement of Belief

	We believe the Bible to be the only infalliable authoritative Word of God.
	We believe that there is one God eternally existent in Three Persons; Father, Son and The Holy Spirit.
	We believe in the Diety of our Lord Jesus Christ, His Virgin Birth, His Sinless Life, His Miracles, His Vicarious Death and His Bodily Resurrection, His Ascension to the Right Hand of the Father, His Personal return in Power and Glory.
	We believe in the ministry of the Holy Spirit, His gifts and graces.
	We believe in the Spiritual unity of all belivers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
