  CARE FOR VISUALLY HANDICAPPED

Visually handicapped girls live as part of the Bougainvillea family at Kedgaon. These include totally and partially blind girls. The special Braille School and teaching facilities with trained teachers provide the girls the opportunity to prepare themselves and compete with the world. The Headmistress is a blind lady, who is well qualified, holding a B.A. and B.Ed. degrees. Suvarna Chavan secured 63.44 % in the S.S.C. Board Exams in March 2000, thus being placed first among visually handicapped students in the Pune Division.

Visually Handicapped women live together in the Bartimi Sadan at Kedgaon. They are self-dependant and take care of themselves. These women earn a living for themselves by making coir baskets and bags, and similar nylon articles.
