Subject: Prayer for ‘The Ends of the Earth’ “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth” (Acts 1: 8) 1. First Tuesday of the Month: Prayer for All Nations (Acts 1: 8) 2. Second Tuesday of the Month: Prayer for India (2 Chronicles 7: 14) 3. Third Tuesday of the Month: Pray for Your Region (Joshua 18: 3) 4. Fourth Tuesday of the Month: Prayer for Shanty Towns (Joshua 1: 3) You are a witness – share your testimony (Acts 1: 8) Say with Jesus and do it and see the world transform right before your eyes “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor. He has sent Me to heal the broken hearted, to preach deliverance to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.” (Luke 4: 18, 19) Remember, you are anointed for the same purpose as Jesus your Master
Subject: Prayer for All Nations “Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion! For behold, I am coming and I will dwell in your midst, says the Lord. Many nations shall be joined to the Lord in that day and they shall become My people. And I will dwell in your midst. Then you will know that the Lord of hosts has sent Me to you.” (Zechariah 2: 10, 11) There are 244 countries in the world. There are many countries where the gospel is still to be preached. Today we will pray for the continents of Asia, Europe, Africa, North and South America and Australia. We will specially pray for the 68 countries of 10°/40° window, which you will find in the map on page (73). Africa, Middle East, South-East and Central Asia, India and China carry large populations of the people who have yet to hear the gospel. About 4 billion people live in these countries. More than 50% of the population is young. Majority of women are illiterate. Only 3% of Asians are Christians. Most of the people of these countries are poor, oppressed and live in spiritual darkness. They are broken hearted and are captives of Satan. They are in bondage to the local ‘strongman’ and need to be set at liberty by opening their minds’ eyes through the light of the gospel. When Nehemiah challenged the Jews to rise up and build the shattered walls of Jerusalem, then every Jewish household took the responsibility for rebuilding the wall in front of his house. Similarly, we need international advocates who will adopt specific countries and People Groups to pray, equip and mobilize local Christians to establish rapidly multiplying churches in their own countries. Remember that the Lord Jesus cannot return until “the earth is filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord”. The good news is that many countries are experiencing astonishing church growth in recent times. But these are just raindrops; we must pray for showers. (Habakkuk 2: 14; Matthew 24: 14) ::PRAYER::
Subject: Prayer for India “For from the rising of sun, even to its going down. My name shall be great among the Gentiles... (Malachi 1: 11) The population of India is over one billion. India grows by 25 million every year. There are 28 states and 7 federally administered units. Kashmir in the north has 0% Christians, whereas Kanyakumari district in the extreme south has more than 50% Christians. In most of the North Eastern states nearly 90% of the population is Christian whereas in western Gujarat not even 0.1% are Christians. There are more churches in Kottayam district of Kerala than in the entire north India. 70% of the population of India lives in villages but rapid urbanization is going on. Until recently there were only about 50,000 churches all over but mostly in south India. In the last decade the number has increased at least four folds with strong growth in north India. There are 600,000 villages in India but most of the churches are in towns and cities. In 25 metropolitan cities and 4500 towns, there are millions of nominal Christians, who worship ‘wealth’ as their most revered idol. Their growth is due to transfer or biological rather than by conversion. Systematic church-planting program for the slums and other unreached peoples of the cities has now started, mostly by independents. Out of 28,000 pin codes in India, 22,000 pin codes have no evangelists. Twenty five million Christians are living in 6,000 pin codes but most of them are busy worshipping Mammon and have no time for completing the task of the Great Commission. Of the 1600 languages, the Bible has been printed in 45 languages only and the New Testament in 50 languages. Radio broadcast is done in 65 languages but with very poor quality follow up so there is very little fruit that remains. India requires one million laborers to reap the harvest. If every Christian family adopts their neighborhood for church planting then the task of discipling of India can be done in one generation only. :: PRAYER ::
Subject: Pray for Your Region “…How long will you neglect to go and possess the land which the Lord God of your fathers has given you?” (Joshua 18: 3) Paul Yongi Cho a young believer, camped in an old tent in the slum area of the city of Seoul in Korea and started praying. After some days a Buddhist person asked him what he was doing? He told him that he was praying to God for their salvation. Soon that person joined him in prayer. Slowly more and more people joined them. Today it is the biggest praying church in the world. Each member of the church is encouraged to start a Cell church in his or her neighborhood. Now they have more than 100, 000 Home Cells. Thousands of people are joining home Cells everyday and praying for the redemption of their nation. Women and youth have planted Eighty percent of these Cells. The intense praise and worship and the intercessory prayers of all these people has transformed that Buddhist country completely. Where there was abject poverty now there is plenty. In place of corruption there is honesty. Instead of illiteracy, people are highly literate. In place of anarchy there is peace and goodwill. In contrast to the above, the culture of India is full of oppression, corruption, anarchy, vulgarity, filth, illiteracy, exploitation and poverty. We know that the main reason for all this is lack of home cells praising and worshipping God. When King Jehoshaphat heard that a great army was coming to invade him, he was afraid and decided to seek the Lord and declared a fast throughout Judea. All Judah came with their wives and even babies to seek the Lord and prayed. As they sang and praised God, the Lord set up ambushes and the enemy destroyed each other. (2 Chronicles 20: 21) It is easy to camp in the church compound but the Lord is looking for such worshippers who are willing to leave their comfort zones and pitch their tents in the dirty slums and change this nation. (Isaiah 54: 1-3) :: PRAYER ::
Subject: Prayer for Your City “And in that day, you will say praise the Lord, call upon His name, declare His deeds among the peoples and make mention so that His name is exalted. Sing, cry out and shout O inhabitant.. (Isaiah 12: 4-6) Caesarea Philippi was the capital of Roman governor. Ambassadors of many countries lived there. They used to bring their own gods made of gold, silver, wood and marble. It was known for it’s many gods and goddesses. In this city of gods, Jesus asked His disciples, about His own identity. Only Peter replied correctly “You are Christ, the son of the living God”. In this city, with the gates of Hell wide open at every step, the Lord Jesus declared “I will build My Church and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it”. (Matthew 16: 13-19) The inhabitants of Mizoram, a state in the North-East, were believers of Pagan gods. The bloodthirsty natives used to cut off the heads of their neighboring tribes. A hundred years ago they accepted Jesus Christ because two missionaries dared to go and share their faith with them. As a result, crime, poverty, filth, illiteracy and murder etc. came down precipitously. Now they fear the Lord, help their neighbors and keep their cities neat and clean. Work starts in many government offices after morning devotion. Candidates for election to the state parliament need clearance certificate from the church so that only those with good standing can be elected. In spite of being one of the smallest states, they support 1000 missionaries from their own earnings. Our business is to demolish the devil’s empire but sadly our leaders dream of constructing grandiose buildings and building their own empires, which is against the will of God (Acts 7: 48, 49). We need to transform our Beth Avens (cities of iniquity) by encouraging worship in every house, which will demolish the local gates of Hell and turn them into Bethels (cities of God). For this we need to go right into the thick of the sin infested parts of the city. :: PRAYER ::
