First Monday of the Month

Subject: People Groups (PG’s) of the World

Ask of Me, and I will give you the nations for your inheritance, and the ends of the earth for your possession. (Psalm 2: 8)

There are at least 25, 000 different People Groups in the world and the number is growing every day. Most of them have yet to hear the Gospel in their own culture, language and context. There are 600 crore (6 billion) people in the world, out of them 200 crores (2 billion) are Christians, some with the full Gospel, others with a half-baked Gospel and yet others with ‘some other gospel’. Nevertheless Christianity is growing as never before, predominantly by conversion. Worldwide 185,000 people are coming to Christ everyday.

There are 120 crores (1.2 billion) Muslims who are also growing rapidly biologically as well as by conversion, often with the help of the sword.

80 crores (800 million) Hindus have successfully introduced the New Age philosophy throughout the world. Yoga (blanking out through meditation) can connect you with the spirit world and attain ‘self realization’. You can now say ‘Aham Bramhasmi’ meaning ‘I am god’. Trishul or trident, a three-pronged spear is their symbolic weapon of destruction.

There are 40 crores (400 million) Buddhists in the world. There are many types of Buddhism. The most sinister is ‘Tantric’ based on occult. Dalai Lama is the head of the heavily cultic Tibetan Buddhism.

There are 20 crores (200 million) Tribals or Indigenous peoples who are animists and worship nature and the ‘spirits’ which inhabit nature.

There are 100 crore (1 billion) Atheists who do not believe in God.
While the God of nations has commanded us to ask for nations as our inheritance, sadly we have not even bothered to pray or share the Gospel with our neighbors.

:: PRAYER ::

Father, You are Jehovah Nissi, our banner. When Joshua fought against the Amalek, Moses, Aaron and Hur went up on the mountain and raised the banner. As long as Moses’ hands were up, Joshua won. Now Jesus is our banner who always leads us in triumph everywhere. Father listens to Your intercessors when they raise their holy hands to pray. (Exodus 17: 10-16; 1 Timothy 2: 8)
O Lord of the nations, we declare in the name of Jesus Christ that the people of all nations be loosed from the bondage of lies and deception. We announce liberty to them to know Jesus that He is the way, the truth and life because no one can go to the Father except through Jesus the Savior. (John 14: 6; 1Timothy 2: 4)
O Lord of the harvest, we beseech You to raise up countless bearers of the good news from every nation who will go and reap the harvest. We pray that every Christian will know that he is the light and salt of the earth (Matthew 9: 37, 38; 5: 13-16)
We pray that nations will not war against nations. Instead they will hammer their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. That every nation will know the Prince of Peace. (Isaiah 2: 4)
We especially pray that the light of the gospel may penetrate through the deep darkness in the developing nations of the 10°/40° window and a vast spiritual harvest be gathered from them. (Luke 2: 30-32)
We praise You because kings and nations are bringing their glory to you and daily 185, 000 people are already coming into Your kingdom worldwide. Grant that through our intercession many more will stand before Your throne and worship You. (Revelations 21: 24-26)

Second Monday of the Month

Subject: People-Groups (PG’s) of Our Nation.

“...I send you, to open their eyes and to turn them from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me.” (Acts 26: 17, 18)

The population of India is now more than 100 crores (one billion). There are 2.5 crores (25 million) Christians, 18 crore (180 million) Scheduled Castes, 10 crore (100 million) Tribals or indigenous peoples, 13 crore (130 million) high caste Hindus, 14 crores (140 million) Muslims, 45 crores (450 million) Other Backward Castes (OBC’s) like Yadav & Parmar etc. A decade ago only 200 PGs were reached but praise God, that church-planting movement has now started among 800 castes.

There are 3000 endogamous Hindu castes in India. Caste system is a curse, the worst form of apartheid, which divides people into high castes and the untouchables (from birth) for which there is no remedy. Social, economic, educational, government, business, banks and media, everything works in favor of the privileged castes while the lower castes are born to serve them as slaves. Even the Christian schools and hospitals predominantly serve the upper castes.

There are 140 million Muslims. The Constitution of India allows every citizen to preach the Gospel. In 1990 there were less than 100 Christians who are in full time ministry to the Muslim neighbors. The sword of Islam is now in ferment and urgently needs to be beaten into peaceful plowshares through the Injil of Isa (Gospel of Jesus). (Isaiah 2: 4)

Similarly millions of Tribals are still worshipping nature and evil spirits while the Buddhists are left to believe in a religion, which has no God.

“Who will go for us?” God is looking for people who will say, “Here am I! Send me.” (Isaiah 6: 8)

:: PRAYER::

O Lord everything and all people were created by You for Your glory but people have rejected You by worshipping millions of other gods and goddesses. We pray that people may know that in You there is no distinction between Greek and Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave nor free but Christ is all in all. (Colossians 1: 16; 3: 11)
We pray that all the atrocities committed in the name of religion be banished from our country and Your righteous kingdom come. Father let those who are burdened and heavy laden hear Your call and come to You and find rest.
Father, the whole creation is eagerly waiting for the revealing of Your sons. Lord let Your children reject the spirit of bondage and receive the Spirit of adoption and cry out and call You, ‘Abba Father’. That they may be led by the Spirit and become Your children. (Romans 8: 14, 15, 19)
Lord, all those who call on Your name will be saved. But they will be able to call on Your name only when we go and preach. We pray that the Gentiles may believe in their hearts that You have risen from the dead and confess with their mouth that Jesus is Lord. (Romans 10: 9, 10, 13-15)
We proclaim to the people who dwell in the shadow of death that they should see the great light. Therefore all you people chosen from the foundations of the earth “arise, shine and purify yourselves because the time for your salvation has come”. (Isaiah 9: 2; 60: 1-3)
O Lord we thank You that soon the Gospel will be preached and the people of all nations, tribes, languages and people groups will joyfully stand before Your throne, wearing white gowns and holding palms in their hands to praise and worship You. (Matthew 24: 14)

Third Monday of the Month

Subject: People Groups (PG’s) of the Region.

“For You were slain and have redeemed us to God by Your blood, out of every tribe, tongue, people and nation, and have made us kings and priests to our God; and we shall reign on the earth. (Revelation 5: 9, 10)

At least four kinds of churches are mentioned in the New Testament. First there were House churches, which met in the homes of believers like Pricilla and Aquilla (1Corinthians 16: 19). Second there were City churches in Rome, Corinth, and Ephesus etc. The city churches were the network of house churches. Third there were Regional churches of Asia and Galatia and others. They were the network of city churches. All these were praying churches and therefore rapidly growing and multiplying. Finally there is the Church Universal of those whose names are written in the Book of the Lamb.

Lord Jesus started His ministry in the region of Galilee (Luke 4: 13-15). “The gentiles who sat in darkness in the regions of Zebulun and Naphtali saw a great light” (Matt. 4: 13-16). Peter preached the Gospel throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria. Paul preached throughout the regions of Asia, Galatia, and Macedonia. In fact throughout his life, it was his aim to preach the Gospel to ‘regions beyond’ (2 Corinthians 10: 16). Phoebe took Paul’s letter to Rome and presumably read it and explained it to them. The Lord has given us the geographical Great Commission to be His witnesses in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and the ends of the earth. (Acts 1: 8; Romans 16: 1, 2)

Satan’s strategy of destruction and desolation is global. Region by region, he is successfully implementing his plan. Satan is only afraid of praying saints (James 4: 7). Gentiles who sit in darkness in your region urgently need your intercession so that they can also see the great light of the gospel.

Let not the Lord say to us that “I know your works that you are neither cold nor hot. Therefore be zealous and repent otherwise I will vomit you out of My mouth” Jesus finds lukewarm Christians nauseating. (Revelation 3: 15, 16, 19)

:: PRAYER::

Father, You are Jehovah Jireh, the God who provides. You provided a substitute ram for Isaac when he was about to be sacrificed. But for the redemption of all humankind You provided Your Son as full and final sacrifice. Everyone has sinned and come short of Your glory but in the blood of the Lamb, there is provision for redemption of every sinner. (Genesis 22: 8, 14; Hebrew 10: 12)
O Lord, we pray that the people of this region may come to repentance from their dead works. May those who sit in darkness see the great light of the gospel and be redeemed from the power of the Satan. We pray that they may find inheritance with the saints in Your kingdom. (Acts 26: 17, 18)
O Lord we pray that You sanctify by truth, spiritual leaders who will take the present fruitless program based churches out of the narrow denominational and institutional boundaries and send us to ‘regions beyond’ where the gospel is yet to be preached. Father as You sent Jesus, send us also. (John 17: 15-18)
O Lord of the harvest, we pray that the believers should lift up their eyes and look at the fields that are ripe for the harvest. That our hearts may be hot within us with a burning desire for reaping a large harvest, lest You vomit us out. (John 4: 35; Psalm 39: 3)
O Lord, may a great host of women intercessors and church planters be raised from every tribe, language, region and People Group who will pray with tears of great burden for the redemption of their own people. (Psalm 68: 11; Jeremiah 9: 17-21)
We thank You Lord, for the assurance that, ‘he who overcomes and keeps Your works until the end, to him You will give power over the nations’. Lord help us to be over comers. (Revelation 2: 26)

Fourth Monday of the Month

Subject: Local People Groups (PG’s)

“I was sought by those who did not ask for me; I was found by those who did not seek me. I said, ‘Here I am, here I am’, to a nation that was not called by My name.” (Isaiah 65: 1)

When the opposition put a decree against anybody who would pray to one true God, Daniel boldly opened his window and prayed. Consequently he was thrown into the den of the lions, but God saved him in a miraculous way. The Gentile King Darius was so impressed by this event that he decreed that all his peoples in one hundred and twenty seven provinces should tremble before the living God of Daniel. (Daniel 6: 25-27)

We need prayer warriors who will boldly pray to one true God for the people of our area. We need to intercede especially for those who oppose God. Our God will act in miraculous ways and change our neighborhood. Daniel fasted and prayed. His prayer was heard from day one, even though it took three weeks for him to receive the answer. He did not know that he had started a war in the heavenly places. (Daniel 10: 12, 13)

The best way to saturate your area with the gospel is to prayer walk the area until the evil powers in the heavenlies are broken. You will be praying on site with insight. In one experiment a group of intercessors prayer walked a block of flats daily for several days and left the neighboring block alone. Later when contacted over 70 percent of the families of the prayer walked block invited the intercessors while 90 percent rejected them in the un-walked block.

Declare as you prayer walk that, “There is no salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved” (Acts 4: 12). You will be invited into a ‘House of Peace’ (Luke 10: 5-9), just like Peter was invited into the house of Cornelius and Paul was invited to the house of Lydia. This is where you will plant ‘A house of prayer for all nations’.

:: PRAYER ::

O Father, You are Jehovah Rapha, the Lord who heals. You healed the bitter waters of Marah with the leaves of a tree. Father, soon the bitterness among the nations will be healed with the leaves of the tree of life. Father let all curses be removed and the healing of nations begin now. (Revelation 22: 1-3; Exodus 15: 22-26)
O Father we pray that Christians will not be cowardly otherwise like the unbelievers, murderers, idolaters, sorcerers, sexually immoral and all liars they will also end up in the lake of fire. We pray that Christians will fast, turn from their cowardly ways and intercede boldly like Daniel. (Revelations 21:8; Daniel 9: 3-9)
We pray that as a result of our intercession, the hearts, homes, purses and dining tables of non-believers will be opened for prayer, teaching, fellowship, baptism, breaking of bread and many new souls will be added to your kingdom everyday. (Acts 2: 42-47)
Father, if we diligently heed Your voice and keep Your commandments then we will have no diseases. We pray that believers will exercise their authority in You and make the blind see, the deaf hear, the lame walk, those suffering with leprosy will be healed and the dead will be raised. (Exodus 15: 26; Matthew 11: 5)
O Lord of the harvest, we beseech you to send a vast army of bold prayer warriors like Daniel who will dare to go into the lions’ den and church planters like Paul who are willing to suffer persecution for their faith. (1 Corinthians 4: 9-13)
Thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place. This is the inheritance of the children of the household of God and heirs of Christ (Ephesians 2: 19; 2 Corinthians 2: 14)
