FIRST DAY OF THE FIFTH WEEK

Prayer for the Extended Household (Oikos)

All those people, with whom we come in contact regularly, become part of our extended household. It is our direct responsibility to bring them in to the kingdom of God through our intercession and sharing the gospel and if necessary by sharing our material blessings.

Our extended family (Oikos) are people like our cook, maid, washerman, milkman, newspaperman, green grocer, butcher, rickshawman, mechanic, driver, traveling partners, classmates and workers in the offices, neighbors, friends, and distant relatives etc.

Write down the names of at least ten persons of other faiths who you wish to bring to Jesus.

Prayer - Lord, We intercede for:

  1. (names ....................) that their hearts and homes, be opened for prayer, teaching and fellowship, just as Cornelius and Lydia opened their hearts and homes for Peter and Paul and gathered people in their homes. (Acts 10: 24; 16: 15)

  2. Lord we break the spiritual bonds and break the curses of (Names ........................) by the authority of the Holy Spirit in us. We pray that they may come to know Jesus as their Savior and glorify Him in their bodies, which is the temple of God.

  3. Lord give us such burden, that we continue to pray for them until Christ be born in their hearts and homes. (Galatians 4: 19)
