The
primary focus of the ministry is evangelism and
church planting. To this end, all the efforts
and energy of the Harvest team is directed. From
two evangelists in 1995, we have grown to 20.
These evangelists travel several miles by foot
or bicycle to reach the villages and share the
Gospel.
Sharing the gospel is no easy thing with these
people, who are illiterates. Most of them practice
primitive religion and are animist. It is very
hard to convince them as they are firmly rooted
in their beliefs. Nevertheless we have seen the
Lord do mighty things through Harvest Ministries.
Harvest Ministries is working actively in 10 Telangana
districts, which consist of 10,465 villages. By
the grace of God, 70 small fellowships, which
we call Christ groups, meet regularly for fellowship.
Apart from this, we have also constructed seven
churches, which are called Christ Community Churches.
By the humble efforts of our evangelists 11,000
people came to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ
and most of them have witnessed in the waters
of baptism. In these efforts 75,000 New Testaments
and 1,50,000 gospel tracts were distributed.
Miracles are abounding everywhere as His servants
call on His name. Believe it or not! A dead woman
was raised to life by one of our evangelist. But
life has not been easy for our evangelists. Many
of them were threatened, beaten for the cause
of the Gospel and their lives are in constant
danger – but they never gave up.
Over the years we realized that we needed to do
a bit more for these impoverished people. Out
of that concern was born the idea of conducting
medical camps in the villages where people do
not have access even to primary health care. Thus
far we have conducted 20 medical camps. Nearly
10,000 people have benefited from the medical
expertise of the doctors and free medicines. Also
445 people were operated upon for cataract and
other eye disorders. During the eye camps, 600
spectacles were distributed free of cost.
These medical camps have created an opening for
us in several remote areas. The villagers have
begun to welcome the evangelists and hear the
Gospel. Recently, in association with the Lepra
India, we started rendering free services to people
who are suffering from T.B, Leprosy & AIDS.
We have also taken up the responsibility for five
AIDS patients and have kept them under observation.
We are encouraging them through Biblical counseling.
On the 11th September 2002 we had the groundbreaking
ceremony at our 5-acre land. A Hindu convert inspired
by the Lord has donated the land for Harvest Ministries.
We plan to establish a Training Center and also
Agri-business venture to help people to transform
their communities.
We also have a literature ministry and are involved
in charitable services like the Digging of bore
wells, Child Support, Sponsoring Bible College
Students and extending help during natural calamities
in partnership with local organizations and Churches.
We have drilled 31 bore wells thus far.
